"I Kissed Dating Goodbye" by Joshua Harris

In Joshua Harris' book, "I Kissed Dating Goodbye," he showed that not dating can be cool! We always assume we need a boyfriend or girlfriend to complete us, when really, we need God. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 says, "For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised." THAT is true love; that Jesus would die for us. We don't need a boyfriend to show us that.
This book describes how we should stay pure and not rush into relationships. Intimacy should be something that is dear to our hearts. We shouldn't flaunt ourselves around like it is nothing that is sacred. Just because you get the guys when you are immodest, it doesn't mean it is the kind of guys you want to attract and the kind of guys that you can be pure with.
We can make mistakes in relationships; that's understandable. We need to avoid those mistakes, though, when we know that it isn't the right thing. Don't rush into any relationship, don't isolate yourself from others while in a relationship, don't forget about your future. It is okay to be "just friends" with someone. We don't always have to think of someone in a romantic way.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It showed me that I don't have to be longing for a relationship with someone. I have God to turn to when I'm down about something, and that's really all that matters.
